Qwin Fiona Mbabazi Nabagereka

Qwin is a lesbian who has devoted her career to human rights awareness and equality with a focus on LGBTIQ+ human rights in Uganda and East Africa, and around the world. Her experience ranges from grassroots mobilisation, multi-operation coordination, pride, Queer film festival organising, volunteering in different capacities, and front-line activism. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Business, she publicly speaks about the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons in Uganda, serves as Board Member of Equality Hub, an LBT organisation based in Nigeria. She is an affirmative feminist and passionate about human rights activism envisioning a just and free LGBTIQ+ society in Africa. Qwin worked as the Programs Officer at an LBT organisation and in 2015 she was part of the incredible steering committee that organised Pride Uganda and interned at UHAI-EASHRI. She is also an Alumni of Human Rights Campaign Global Innovators Summit of 2016. International Advisory Group member for All Out and currently the Community Engagement Manager at GLAAD.
