What is Learn to Grow Initiative – Career Development Counseling Services?

This program is designed to support young African LGBTQI+ folks seeking to improve their career prospects and outcomes. This program aims to enhance their employability and job readiness and equip them with the skills and confidence to pursue their desired career paths by providing them with tailored training, mentoring, networking, and coaching. 

The program also seeks to break down the barriers and challenges that LGBTQI+ people face in the labour market, such as discrimination, stigma, and lack of representation. This initiative aligns with diversity, inclusivity, and social justice principles fundamental to empowering young African LGBTQI+ folks to achieve their career goals and contribute to society’s economic and social development. By improving access to career opportunities and fostering a culture of inclusion and respect, this program empowers young folks African LGBTQI+ to achieve their career goals. 

What are the benefits?

As a participant in this program, you will:

  • Receive a one-time consultation with our experienced career advisors, who will provide personalised feedback and guidance on your CV, cover letter, statement of purpose, and other documents crucial for landing your dream job. This service will help you showcase your skills, achievements, and potential to employers and boost your chances of success in the competitive job market.
  • Access sessions that will help you learn from experts and peers and gain valuable insights and tips on navigating the career landscape as an LGBT+ person.
  • Access various resources and tools to help you further your career journey.

Who can apply?

This program is open to LGBTQI+ people who are:

  • Between 18 and 25 years old.
  • Interested in advancing their career and professional development.
  • Motivated and committed to participate in the program activities and requirements.
