What word perfectly captures and describes who you are?
The word that describes me is ‘motivation’ because motivation is the foundation of everything. I believe that when one is motivated, one can achieve beautiful things. When motivated, you find the strength to fight for the causes dear to them.

As an activist, what are some of the challenges you may have faced within the advocacy space, and how did you overcome them?
As a trans activist, I have encountered many challenges. First and foremost, my gender identity has brought negative attention to me, which has led to many verbal threats, abuse and discrimination.
But thanks to my personal values, self-confidence, and leadership, I can live and get through that.

What inspires you to continue working within the community?
My first motivation for this fight is to make the world a better place where trans people won’t have to go through so much injustice.
I also think it is primordial to live in a world where peace and justice reign, regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation. I believe that everyone deserves to be happy.

What you’d like to say to a young African LBTQ who might be watching this now?
My message for the LBTQ youth is to persevere. The fight is not easy, but they must keep fighting for this good cause because standing for what you love is important.
Regardless of the difficulties, we know we will get there one day. Don’t give up; be consistent, and it will lead to a better result.
